Step by Step instructions for taking the Online test

Please follow the steps below, IN ORDER, to ensure that you meet the requirements and properly register for the test.
Use the printable at home preparation checklist to help guide you through the steps.

  • Step 1

    Print the Email Admit Card which contains all the requirements / instructions for the test. It also contains your username and password.(Kindly check the Spam/Update/Promotions folder in case the email is not recieved in your inbox.) Go through the student guideline to become familiar with the Test procedure and the Testing application. Also read the general tips for having a good testing experience.

  • Step 2

    You will need to make sure you meet the basic requirements for taking the proctored test as given in the student guide. You can check the device [PC / Laptop] you want to take the test from by clicking on the "TEST MY SYSTEM" button given below. You can perform this check anytime you want. The system check will go smoothly if you are
    [a] Have already installed the Latest Google Chrome Browser on PC / Laptop with Windows OS 7 or better.
    [b] System has a working camera , microphone attached.
    [c] Time zone is set to India and time is auto synchronised.
    [d] You have a 4G / Broadband internet connection.
    [e] Please note for the exam day you will also need an Android Mobile phone with a working camera and microphone & UCanAssess app installed. For installing the app click here

  • Step 3

    On the day of the test please join 1 Hour before the test to ensure you are able to complete the verification process in time.

  • Step 4

    Now go to the Exam portal page [http://frionline.in/] using Google Chrome Browser on your PC/Laptop. On the portal you will be shown a link to start the test. Click on the same to launch the online test application. Now use the username / password given in your Email Admit Card for logging into the online test application.

  • Step 5

    Once you login, you will be shown instructions , and the papers which are currently available. Papers will become visible 1 hour before the test in the list. In case of any issues call the technical helpline. For M.Sc. entrance test candidates are to attempt ONE paper only. For Ph.D. entrance test candidates have to attempt ONE compulsory paper and ONE out of the various optional/discipline paper.

  • Step 6

    Now click on the paper you want to attempt first. You will be shown all details about the paper and a button for doing the camera / system verification. Please click it and have the system check completed. The system check will go smoothly if you are
    [a] Using the Latest Google Chrome Browser
    [b] System has a working camera , microphone attached.
    [c] Time zone is set to India and time is auto synchronised.
    [d] You have a 4G / Broadband internet connection.

  • Step 7

    You will now be asked to connect your second device [mobile phone]. Click on it and a QR code will be displayed. Use the UCanAssess app on your Mobile for scanning the QR Code and connecting / pairing your mobile. Please note that the QR code will not work unless you use the UCanAssess app. If you do not have it installed install it from here : click here . Once it is paired your mobile camera will also be activiated and you will be required to place the mobile on the side / back of the place you are taking your test from. Please note that if your mobile phone is stopped / disconnected then you will not be able to take the test. This test requires proctoring from both your mobile and PC / Laptop.

    Once you finish the entire verification & connecting your second device you will see the START EXAM button. The button will get activated only at the start time of the examination. After the start time of the paper press this button to start your test. Read the Student guide to become familiar with the test interface.

  • Step 8

    Answer the questions and proceed forward. On the last question you will be shown a button to Finish and Submit. Once you press this button your paper will be submitted and you will not be allowed to answer any more questions of that paper. Make sure you do not press this in error.

  • Step 9

    In case of any issues during the Exam time duration call the Helpline number given on this portal. There is an IVR system which will connect you to a Technical Support person. If you get logged out you can login and resume the test [your earlier responses will remain saved] but you will need to complete the verification process again.

  • Step 10

    Once you have finished your paper(s) you can logout of the test and close the system. You can also logout from the test proctoring session on the mobile.
